Mary Beth Bruggeman

Mary Beth serves as a key member of the Goldman-Sonnenfeldt Foundation staff, supporting Michael and his family in refining their philanthropic strategy, evaluating grants, and coordinating between family members to ensure alignment on key charitable commitments and priorities.

Mary Beth Bruggeman graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999 and commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. She spent eight years as an active-duty Marine combat engineer, reaching the rank of Captain and completing one combat deployment to Iraq during the "March Up" in March 2003. Upon leaving active duty, Mary Beth worked for iRobot Corporation for four years, advancing their work on counter-IED robotics. Following her time with IRobot, Mary Beth spent time as a stay-at-home mom and
Marine wife, and then started a fitness and nutrition coaching business, which she grew to include a network of more than 75 coaches. 

Mary Beth joined the Mission Continues- a national veteran-serving nonprofit- in 2015 as the Executive Director for the Southeast Region. From 2019-2024, Mary Beth served as the CEO of The Mission Continues, growing the impact to serve tens of thousands of military veterans across more than 40 communities, and growing the brand to be one of the most established and well-respected nonprofits serving post-9/11 veterans. 

In 2024, Mary Beth founded Angels 10 Advisors, an advisory firm that provides support to high net worth individuals and families who aim to be more strategic and impactful with their philanthropy. 

Mary Beth has degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy (BS) and Georgetown University (MPP) and is an alumnus of the George W. Bush Institute’s Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program. She serves on the boards of Beneath the Service, The War Horse, and on the Veteran Advisory Council of Everytown for Gun Safety. Mary Beth lives in Fairfax Station, VA, with her husband Brian, a retired Marine, and their three kids.
