Season 1, Episode 2 - Martin Hermann: From Apprentice to World Leader in Renewable Energy

Martin Hermann is a serial entrepreneur with over 27 years of experience in the solar, clean-tech and high-tech industries. He has closed business transactions in excess of $5.3 billion. Martin founded 8minutenergy, one of the largest independent developers of solar PV in the U.S. He is the current CEO of BrightNight, the first renewable integrated power company designed to provide utility and commercial and industrial customers with clean, dispatchable renewable power solutions.

By the age of 35, he sold the software company he co-founded to Intel. As both an operating executive and serial entrepreneur, Martin has spent his career identifying fast-growing market opportunities where market fundamentals have enabled him to create significant value across a company’s key constituents.

Hermann shares insights into the renewable energy sector, including the development of hybrid power systems combining solar, wind, and battery storage to provide reliable, round-the-clock energy. You’ll also hear his philosophy on entrepreneurship.
